Maintenance Worker – Public Works. City of Tiffin, IA (pop. 5,800). Position performs a variety of skilled labor tasks of street, park ground maintenance and water and sewer system maintenance. Performs snow removal duties, cement and asphalt patching and minor construction projects. Operates light construction equipment and power construction tools. Under the supervision of the Public Works Director. High School diploma required. Knowledge and ability to use common hand and power tools, common construction materials and equipment and perform heavy outside work. Also must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions. A valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record is required. Possession of CDL license a plus or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hiring. Pre-employment drug screening required. Position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Starting wage of $22.88 per hour, plus benefits package.
